We got to catch up with Peter... lets see what He had to say!
KingdomSoldNYC: In 2011 you released your mix tape, Peter Anderson "The Solo Album" with popular songs "S.A.V.E.D"saved, "Jesus U the Best" and you featured, Jessica Crosson, Brooklyn's own Belle Boy and C-money. That was 4 years ago, so here we are now 2015, you released a single "Brand New" with Djhano Alexander a couple months ago. Peter tell us about this latest project.
Peter: Well it's an EP album and I'm bringing out because like you said it's been a while, it was actually 2010 when I released that mix tape. Through these years I've been doing a lot of writing and hitting the studio once or twice within those years to work on different things. "Tell Me What Now" is pretty much telling everyone what I was doing in that time and people who didn't hear from me. It's pretty much showing the growth, what I've been doing, where God has been taking me. There's an underlining word that is after the title and it's "TRANSPARENCY". God has called me to be more transparent in my music and towards people. I think people can relate to that- a lot of times we see the surface and we don't really talk, we don't really talk personal- we talk very minimal about the things that go on in our lives and this just showing that God is showing me to be more transparent with people and to give more depth feelings, more in depth emotions, more insight on my life and how it relates. How I relate it to my relationship with God, to my family and to people I come in contact with. That's what tell me whats now is, it's like Lord you told me to be transparent, so what now- so tell me what now... so that's why the title is "Tell Me What Now" it's really talking to God saying Tell Me What Now, after that, what do I do next? There's a song "Tell Me What Now" the first part of it is more me talking to God and the second verse is more me reflecting on a situation, where God taught me how to forgive through that situation, he taught me to move on from that situation and don't let it define you, don't let it keep you away from the destiny and work that I've called you to do. So that's pretty much Lord, Tell Me What Now- What ever you tell me to do, I wanna do it and I want to do it now- I wanna do it in with the time that you tell me. So that's pretty much what It's about.
KingdomSoldNYC: That's a really cool concept and that's where it starts, being transparent with God and in that process you live it out and be more transparent with those around your friends, family and whoever else. So it's called "Tell Me What Now" It's coming out this Friday October 23rd 2015....where can we go to get your music?
Peter: All digital music outlets. In a couple weeks after the release I will have hard copies, you can also go to Amazon on demand and get the hard copies. If you really want to support me even tho there are those that want their hard copies- digitally download it Amazon, Itunes, Google Play all media outlets. It's going to be something that shows you more of what's going to happen in the future. You're going to see more professionalism, the strategy God is showing me and the things that I am using will show there is a plan and I'm not just a person putting up music; cause everybody putting something up online. This is showing you the future - this is going to show you the music and what young believerz is about. I'm really excited bout it.
KingdomSoldNYC: What can we expect from this project, this is 4-5 years of work combined, so what should we expect?
Peter: The way I promoted it, I used the number 23 and used the concept of Michael Jordan and usually when people think about the number 23 they think about Jordan. 23 is the date of the release, so 23 I'm saying - I put out an EP commercial to promote this project and it's saying number 23 is set. People saw it 2 ways and I am kinda glad that they saw it like that, the michael jordan of music is back and you know taking a full stand towards that but you know I was really aiming to make a connection in people's mind that when they think of 23 they not only think about Jordan but they think of the date that I released my EP. I took it in that direction but some people took it as you saying you the Michael Jordan of Music and you saying you gonna change the game. I'm okay with them seeing as that because I want to challenge myself, if I stay the same there's no growth then it's like God can evolve me, God can't grow me and I'm not saying that. So I believe when you hear this album you going to hear the growth from this last project, you going to see that my songwriting has changed. I tell people all the time, I am more of a songwriter I'm not really a hip hop artist or rap artist- I am a songwriter that's an artist. You're going to see how the music has changed in the song writing and me rapping and delivering certain sounds and certain vocals and words. You'll see the change. Also, people is should expect to hear the growth from the last time they heard me in 2010 and how I've evolved in the years. A lot of these songs were written years ago, you see songs that were written 3 months ago some 2 years ago- and you can tell and see which songs were written when because some of the songs relate to things happening the other day. So they can expect to see good songwriting, growth, delivery and the way I relate to people.
KingdomSoldNYC: Anything you want to say from promo, to a shout out or even an encouraging word.
Peter: I will say this, something I always say is Keep doing what God told you to do. Follow the dreams that God has put inside you. I say this thinking of the words I am saying because a lot of people just follow their dreams and sometimes they're not dreams that God put inside you. So you follow your own personal dreams and there's nothing wrong with having personal dreams and setting goals but don't forget about the dreams God placed inside you and if you don't know just ask him and God will show you. Follow those dreams because they're God centered and will make you prosperous as well as they will make room for you because it something that God has invested inside you and He will take care of His investments. He will take care of you when you do His will and His business- so follow the dreams that God has put inside you. I do want to give some shout outs to Djhano Alexander for producing the Ep. He did majority of the songs when it come to the beats, the engineering, when it comes to the sounds that you hear. He is working with his group Bridging the Gap which is a Haitian Praise & Worship type of Group. So shout out to Djhano, shout out to Belle Boy of Brook Brothers. The features of course and all the people that helped. Shout out to Marcus Hall who has really helped me out, given ideas and help me understand the music business. He's been a great listening ear while working on this project. Shout out to my wife, it's been a long journey to even finish this project and she's been very patient and understanding. Shout out to my family, my big brother Kevin, those rooting me on -here and down south. Thank ya'll
